Introduction

1.   As Christmas or birthday approach – common question: What do you want?

2.   Are there things you want as a Christian?

We want a Faith like Abraham – Hebrews 11:8-18

1.   He had obedient faith – v.8

2.   He had a patient faith – v. 9-10

3.   He had a tested faith – v. 17-19

We want the Priorities of Moses – Hebrews 11:24-27

1.   Moses made some tough choices

2.   He made them by his faith.

3.   Do we have our priorities in proper order?

4.   J O Y = Jesus first, Others second, Yourself last

We want the Stand up like Joshua – Numbers 13:25-33; 14:1-10

1.   2 of the 12 spies to survey the land

2.   They stood up to the majority – who were wrong!

3.   Standing for God is not easy.

We want to forget like Paul – Philippians 3:13-15

1.   The past often holds us down.

2.   Put the past in the past, let go and let God.

3.   Learn from the past, but don’t live there.

We want to lean on Jesus like John – John 13:23

1.   3 closest apostles – Peter, James, John

2.   We need to get closer to Jesus – hear His heartbeat

We want to soul winners like Andrew and Phillip

1.   Andrew brought Peter – John 1:40-42

2.   Philip brought Bartholomew – John1:43-46

We want to love the church like Timothy – Philippians 2:19-22

1.   Paul was in prison in Rome; Timothy was at Philippi.

2.   Timothy cared for the church there.

We want to repent like Peter – Matthew 26:51-75

1.   He was afraid – 51

2.   He forsook and fled – 56

3.   He followed the crowd – 58

4.   He denied Jesus 3 times – 69-74

5.   He repented - 75
