Should Christians follow the Jewish calendar?

 

1.    First day of the week is the day for Christians to worship.

a.    John 20:19, 26

b.    Acts 2:1

c.    Acts 20:7

d.    1 Corinthians 16:2

2.    Strict observance requires us to follow Israel time, not CST

a.    Day begins at 6pm to 6 pm

b.    Adjust clock to middle eastern time.

c.    Compare times in Matthew (Jewish) and other gospels (Roman time)

3.    Judaism has been done away

a.    Romans 7:1-7

b.    Colossians 2:14

c.    Ephesians 2:14

d.    Hebrews 8:6-7

4.    Christian worship celebrates the resurrection (not creation)

5.    First day of worship – Pentecost

a.    Acts 2:1

b.    Passover on a Sabbath (Saturday)

c.    Add 7 weeks (49 days)

d.    Add one more day – 50 days – Sunday

6.    The gospel is universal, not Jewish

a.    Great Commission – all nations; every creature

b.    Study Acts – Paul preached in other time zones and calendars
