Is the End Near?

When the end comes:

1. Lord will return John 6:39-40

2. Dead will be raised John 5:28-29

3. Living will be changed 1 Corinthians 15:51

4. Humanity will be judged Matthew 25:31-46

5. Kingdom given to God 1 Corinthians 15:24

6. Wicked separated Matthew 25:41

7. Saved will go home 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

8. The end will come

   1. 1 Corinthians 15:24

   2. 2 Peter 3:4

   3. 2 Peter 3:10

9. The end will come unexpectedly

   1. Luke 12:40

   2. Deuteronomy 29:29

   3. Many have tried to set a date – Montanus, Hippolytus, Martin Luther, William Miller (18 times), Joseph Smith, Charles T. Russell, Herbert W. Armstrong, Jerry Falwell, Harold Camping. Many in cult groups think the end is near.

10. The end may or may not come soon

    1. What about the “signs” we hear people talk about?

       1. War, earthquakes, famine, wickedness, terrorists

       2. Matthew 24 – Jesus is telling when the temple will be destroyed (AD 70)

    2. THEN Jesus answered the 2^nd question – signs of end? There are none.

       1. Like a thief in the night – unexpected

    3. The important thing – Be ready
