Types of Worship in the New Testament!

1. VAIN worship – Matthew 15:8-9

   1. Empty, without meaning or purpose

   2. Isaiah 1 – vain oblations

2. IGNORANT worship – Acts 17:22-23

   1. Many worship a false god

   2. Many worship the right God in the wrong way

3. WILL (i.e., self-made) worship – Colossians 2:20-23

   1. Some want worship that THEY like, please themselves

   2. Worship is not for our pleasure and enjoyment

4. CREATURE worship – Romans 1:25

   1. We think of the pagans who worship snakes, cows, birds, lions

   2. But many today – are in love with themselves, narcissistic

   3. Some are guilty of following a man – preacher, TV star, movie star, singer

5. TRUE worship – John 4:23-24

   1. Spirit = with zeal, excitement, fervor – sing like you mean it

   2. Truth = doing what God said, they way God said to do it
