INTRODUCTION:
1. Parable of Good Samaritian. Here are three types of characters.
2. Each has their own rule of life.
1. Iron Rule - What is yours is mine, I will take it.
A. Robber's philosophy of life.
B. Many robbers today.
1. Church - of work and talent.
2. God - of offerings.
3. Family - of love and support
C. This philosophy is - Covetousness - Greed.
1. I Tim. 5:9-10 Love of money.
2. Eph. 4:28 Steal no more.
D. Many believe that "Others should help me when I am in need." BUT: Do they help others? Visit hospital? Write notes of encouragement? Call the sick? Go see the lonely?
2. Silver Rule - What is mine is mine, I will keep it.
A. Priest and Levite - Spiritual leaders
B. This philosophy is - Selfishness - Humanistic.
1. Too busy - pass by on other side.
2. Not get involved - pass by on other side.
3. Get dirty - pass by on other side.
4. Cost me money - pass by on other side.
C. Many will not fight for what is right. Causes die for a lack of help.
3. Golden Rule - What is mine is yours, I will share it.
A. Good Samairitan - Interested in being a neighbor.
B. This philosophy - Loving, Sharing, Caring
C. Not seeking what the world owed him.
D. He felt a debt he owed to all men.
