TITLE: Treasures and Pearls

TEXT: Matthew 13:44-46

1. Tell the two parables.

          A. Treasure - accidently found, hides it, sells all, buys field

          B. Pearl - searching for pearls, finds one, sells all others

 

2. Compare them.

          A. Portray the kingdom as valuable and exciting.

          B. Something hidden, not visible.

                    a) Must search for the kingdom

                    b) May be unexpectedly found

                    c) There are a lot of “fakes” out there

          C. Worth selling all that one has to obtain it.

 

3. Contrast them.
