Be Holy

1 Peter 1:13-19

1. Gird up your mind

   1. Improve, strengthen

   2. Use your brain – exercise it – puzzles, games, crossword, wordsearch, sudoku

   3. Read, learn a new subject (how to cane re-cane chairs, new language, computers, set up a website, send email, etc.)

2. Be sober

   1. Sober – not drunk

   2. Serious thinking (sometimes)

   3. There is a time to be serious about life and eternity

3. Be obedient children

   1. Hebrews 5:8-9

4. Don't conform to the world

   1. Romans 12:1-2

5. Be holy in your conduct

   1. Holy = saint, sanctify, separate, set apart, dedicated for God

   2. Our conduct must set us apart, show we are dedicated to God

6. God will judge by you live and work

   1. The standard is the Word of God – Bible

   2. We (our life, our work, our conduct) will be contrasted with the Bible.

7. Live like you are saved – redeemed

   1. Glad your a Christians? Act like it.

   2. Saved? Forgiven? Redeemed? Act like it.

8. Act like the blood of Jesus is important -

   1. Precious

   2. No spot or blemish
