TITLE:  Words at the Judgment

TEXT:  Matthew 7:21-23

1.    Many picture Judgment Day as a day when their life is reviewed and God declares us “guilty” or “not guilty.”

2.    Guilt is determined at the point of our death.

a.    At death we go to Paradise or Torment

b.    Our guilt is already decided

3.    Judgment Day is not a jury trial.

4.    After the trial the judge will declare – “Guilty as charged.”

5.    Then the judge will set a date for “sentence to be pronounced.”

6.    You are in jail, know you are guilty, but you don’t know how severe the sentence will be.

7.    JUDGMENT DAY IS THE DAY OF SENTENCING!

WE DO NOT WANT TO HEAR:

1.    I never knew you - Matthew 7:23

2.    I do not know you - Matthew 25:12

3.    Wicked - Matthew 25:26

4.    Lazy (slothful – KJV) - Matthew 25:26

5.    Cursed - Galatians 3:10

6.    You did not help me - Matthew 25:45

7.    Everlasting punishment - Matthew 25:46

8.    You practice lawlessness (work iniquity – KJV) - Matthew 7:23

9.    Cast into the lake of fire - Revelation 20:14-15

10.          Second death - Revelation 21:8

11.          From the presence of the Lord - 2 Thessalonians 1:9

12.          Depart from me - Matthew 7:23

WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR:

1.    Enter

2.    Good

3.    Faithful

4.    Well done

5.    You helped me

6.    Blessed of the Father

7.    Inherit all things

8.    Drink from the water of life

9.    Not lose my reward

10.                    Spirit and bride say, “Come”

11.                    Enter in through the gates into the city

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

1.    There are words we don’t want to hear

2.    There are words we want to hear

3.    On Judgment Day we will learn what the punishment or reward will be

4.    You can change the outcome NOW

5.    How we live now will determine what we will hear on Judgment Day

6.    Where you are at the point of death will set your eternal destiny

7.    And if a tree falls to the south or the north, In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie. Ecclesiastes 11:3b
