TITLE: Paradise Lost
TEXT: Genesis 3:22-24
PROPOSITION: Disobedience cost man his Paradise.

INTRODUCTION:
  1. Creation - Man was the crowning glory.
  2. Over all the garden. In charge. Paradise.
  3. Just obey God. Enjoy life forever.
1. Notice What Man Had.
  1. Garden of Eden bliss, peace, happiness
  2. God's blessings – providence, protection, care, communication
  3. Power and control of his world – over animals and plants
  4. Tree of Life - eternal life – live forever in this paradise
2. Notice What Man Did.
  1. Three-way temptation:
    1. Lust of flesh		Good for food
    2. Lust of eyes		Beautiful to look upon
    3. Pride of life		Desired to make one wise
  2. Played the "blame game."
  3. Fully aware of their wrong.
    1. Naked, hid themselves
    2. Covered themselves with fig leaves
  4. Innocence gone - Now they are aware of wrong, sin, evil.
  5. Partnership. Equality.
3. Notice What Man Lost.
  1. Ease and Comfort – 
    1. By the sweat of the face
    2. Work soil, plow, chop, fertilize
    3. Fight the weeds, vines, dandelions, kudzu
  2. Freedom from Pain – 
    1. In childbirth
    2. Pain – sickness, death
  3. Lost control – 
    1. Animals - Snakes in the grass, Tiger kills in San Francisco, rats
    2. Insects – mosquitoes, ants
    3. Plants – Kudzu, dandelions, 
    4. Humans – husband, government, laws, taxes, war, terrorists
Paradise can be re-gained – Faith, obedience, life dedicated to God
