INTRODUCTION:

  1. Have you ever stopped to think that Jesus did not have a plan “B” if His plan “A” were rejected?

  2. Simon Peter understood the implications of this when he told Jesus that there was nowhere else to go for eternal life (John 6:60-69).

  3. Consider Jesus’ rejection of Peter’s alternative suggestion in Matthew 16:22-24; any other plan would have been from Satan!

  4. What about the multitude’s desire for another plan to make him their king in John 6:15?

  5. Jesus was uncompromising in pressing the Father’s agenda.

  2. John 14:6 – No man comes to the Father but by me

  3. Mark 16:15-16 – Believe and be baptized

  4. John 10:1 – Jesus is door – climb in other way = thief and robber

  2. Ephesians 4:4 – one body

  3. Ephesians 1:22-23 – Church is the body of Christ

  2. Colossians 3:16 – Sing – psalms, hymns, spiritual songs

  3. I Corinthians 11:23-26 – Communion

  4. Give freely – 2 Corinthians 9:7 – not of necessity, God loves cheerful giver

There Is No Plan “B” for Conduct Among Brethren

  1. Ephesians 4:29 – Nothing corrupt – only what will edify

  2. Ephesians 4:30 – Put away bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking

  3. Philippians 2:3 – No selfish ambition, each esteem others better than self

There Is No Plan “B” for Church Growth

  1. I Peter 2:9 – Chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation

  2. Matthew 28:19 – Go and make disciples, teach them to observe all things

  3. Mark 16:15 – Go preach the gospel to every creature

  4. Ephesians 4:11-16 – Saints equipped for work of ministry, edifying the body

Conclusion:

  1. As Jesus did not compromise, so we must not compromise.

  2. God has only one plan for His people!

  3. In every aspect of Christianity, we must be about our Father’s business.
