INTRODUCTION:

  1. I am not a house builder but have learned a little through life.

  2. There are load bearing outside walls and removable inside walls.

  3. Today we are going to discus – not tearing down, just remodeling

  4. Middle walls can be removed, changed – not harm the structure.

Tearing out the Middle Wall (14)

  1. It started out as one room – Patriarchal – Adam, Noah, Abraham

  2. Room was divided at Sinai – Galatians 3:19 – “it was added”

  3. Death of Christ = removing the wall of separation.

What was taken away? (15-16)

  1. Patriarchal law – for all men

  2. Mosaic law – for nation of Israel

  3. “Both” were removed.

Are we without law? Walls? Protection? Structure? NO!

  1. He put both together in one body (church)

  2. Far off (Gentiles) and near (Jews) – same message of peace

  3. Not without law, under law of Christ – 1 Corinthians 9:21

Here is the exciting part (19-22)

  1. No longer strangers, foreigners

  2. We can be fellow citizens

  3. Member of the household of God

  4. Built on foundation of apostles and prophets

  5. Christ is chief cornerstone

  6. Whole building fits together

  7. Holy temple in the Lord

  8. You are being built together
