    1. No king (leadership) in Israel.

Chapter 17

  1. Stole from his mother. 2

  2. She used the money to make images. 3

  3. Made an ephod and teriphim. 5

  4. Appointed his son to be the priest. 5

  5. Levite left Bethlehem - looking for a job. 9

  6. Made a deal with Micah. 10
    NOTE: Micah had the three R’s - Riches, religion, respectability.

  7. Everybody was happy. 11-12

  8. God will bless me. 13
    Chapter 18

  9. Dan wants to expand his territory. 1

  10. Seeks advice from Micah’s priest. 6

  11. Hired him away from Micah. 19

  12. Took the images and garments. 20

  13. Micah was angry - told - “Be quiet or die.” 25
    NOTE: Micah has lost his three R’s.

  14. All the time - Shiloh - just over the hill from Micah. 31

 

LESSONS TO LEARN:

  1. If you can do what is right in your eyes, so can others.

  2. Go way wrong - house of God is still here – waiting.

  3. We can be so involved in good, religious things, not aware of reality of where we are or where God is.
