The 3rd command – Don’t misuse God’s name
We must show respect and reverence for His name.
This command involves more than many think.
There are many names, titles, terms which apply to God.
Jehovah-Rhoi – Shepherd – Psalm 23:1
Jehovah Shammah – God who is there – Ezekiel 48:35
Jehovah Jireh – God will provide – Genesis 22:14
There are so many terms (almost 400)
Study one each day
Take more than a year
Bad Language
There are at least 7 ways to use bad language
Filthy, gutter, swearing, profanity, cursing, sacrilegious, euphemism
Take what is sacred, holy and drag it down to material world
Many “Christians” violate this command
“Oh, my God.” – surprised
“God, you scared me,” When frightened.
