TITLE: Who Can be Saved?

TEXT: Mark 10:24-27

PROPOSITION: No man has gone so far as to be beyond the grace and love of God for salvation.

INTRODUCTION:

          1. No one has to be lost.

                    A. 1 Tim. 2:4 "will have all men to be saved"

                    B. 2 Pet. 3:9 "not willing that any perish"

          2. God has provided salvation.

                    A. Tit. 2:11 "grace of God brings salvation"

          3. Gospel has the power to save.

                    A. Rom. 1:16 "power of God unto salvation"

                    B. Ja. 1:21 "is able to save your souls"

I. Salvation does NOT require:

          Wealth

          Education               Ac. 4:13 "unlearned, ignor"

          Fame

          Honor                     I Cor. 1:26 "Not many wise,

          Social standing          mighty, noble are called"

II. Must have DESIRE.

          A. Not forced to be saved - Your choice.

                    1. Rev. 3:20 "stand at the door, knocking"

                    2. Rev. 22:17 "Whosoever will, let him come"

          B. Desire.

                    1. Matt. 5:6 "hunger and thirst"

                    2. Ac. 2:41 "gladly receive word"

                    3. Interrupt the sermon to obey.

III. Must have WILLINGNESS

          A. To accept Bible

                    1. Jn. 8:32 "know truth, truth make you free"

                    2. Mt. 13:15 "heart waxed gross, dull hearing"

          B. To admit the need for God.

          C. No argue with God's will.

Conclusion:

          1. Are you saved?  Why not?

          2. Do you want to be saved?  Do you accept the Bible?

          3. Are you ready to obey? open the door? respond?
