STRENGTH IS WEAKNESS

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Text

1.      Paul wrote so much of our NT

2.      He must be careful not to get the “big head”

3.      He prayed 3 times for this “thorn” to be removed

4.      God’s grace is enough

5.      “When I am weak, then I am strong”

What is your “thorn”?

1.      Infirmities, reproaches, needs, distress

2.      Looks, job, money, marriage, “mother-in-law”

Apply God’s Answer

1.      Ask a friend or trusted advisor for an honest appraisal.

2.      “Is THAT what I really look like?”

STRONG

WEAK

Humble

Shy

Quiet

Doesn’t speak up

Enthusiastic

Talks too much

Aggressive

Comes on too strong

Forceful

Intimidates

Read – REASON IN REVERSE

1.      She married him because he was such a “dominating man.”
She divorced him because he was such a “dominating male.”

2.      He married her because she was so “fragile and petite.”
He divorced her because she was so “weak and helpless.”

3.      She married him because he knows how to provide a good living.
She divorced him because “all he thinks about is his work.”

4.      He married her because “she reminds me of my mother.”
He divorced her because “she’s getting more her mother everyday.”

5.      She married him because “he was gay and romantic.”
She divorced him because he was “shiftless and fun loving.”

6.      He married her because she was “steady and sensible.”
He divorced her because “she was boring and dull.”
