Knowledge Needed for Salvation

1.     Some hesitate to become Christians because they don’t know enough

2.     Must I understand everything before being baptized?

3.     In Acts – every conversion – heard one sermon, one time

There are some things we MUST know:

1.     To Obey the Gospel

a.     Believe that Jesus is the Son of God

b.     Repent from our sins

c.     Baptism

                                                    i.     Burial in water

                                                   ii.     Figure of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ

                                                 iii.     Purpose – for the forgiveness of sins

2.     Learn soon after baptism

a.     Worship

                                                    i.     Sunday, 1^st day of the week

                                                   ii.     Communion, sing, pray, give, study

b.     Moral life – we must abandon sin

c.     Work of a Christian

3.     What if I die before learning it all?

a.     Everyone does – Philippians 3:12-13

b.     Real question – Did you live by what you did learn?

c.     God knows the intent of the heart – Hebrews 4:12
