5.    Literal vs. Figurative

6.    Use common sense

7.    Don’t make a plain passage contradict a difficult one

8.    Remember there is milk and meat – study on you level

9.    Use concordances, commentaries, dictionaries

10. Study all verses on the same subject

11. Remember chronological order

12. Study regularly
