Fleas and Pumps

Philippians 4:9-13

 

1.     Flea trainers

a.     Fleas in a jar with lid

b.     Jump – learn how high

c.     Avoid hitting the lid

d.     Remove lid – none jump out

2.     4 minute mile – can’t be broken

a.     Until Roger Banister

b.     Now – 4 minutes not in the race at all

c.     SNIOP – Susceptible to the Negative Influence of Other People

3.     A flea trainer is one who jumps out of the jar

a.     Shows others what IS possible

b.     1 Corinthians 11:1

4.     Pumps

a.     Prime the pump to get it started

b.     Ask for raise – You get it. It starts when you do.

c.     Fireplace – Heat me, then I will get you some wood

d.     Reward me and I will produce

5.     In life – If you pump hard enough, long enough, enthusiastically enough – sooner or later you will be rewarded

a.     Hard – Colossians 3:22-29; Ecc. 9:10

b.     Long – Galatians 6:9; Hebrews 12:1

c.     Joy – John 4:36; Psalm 126:5-6

d.     Reward – Matthew 6:4; 1 Corinthians 9:17
