The Chain that Saves

Introduction

1.     A man falls into a deep hole, he yells, boy hears him, gets an adult, who brings a rope, another rounds up several adults – the rope is lowered, he ties it around him and all the adults pull him to the surface.

2.     Question: What save the man? Yell, by, rope, several adults, - all of them

3.     What does the Bible say saves us?

4.     Each of the links in the chain of events is vital.

A chain is as strong as the weakest link.

1.     Blood of Christ – Romans 5:8; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Revelation 1:5; Ephesians 1:7

2.     Grace of God – Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 2:11

3.     Work – Philippians 2:12; James 2:24; Matthew 7:21

4.     Hope – Romans 8:24

5.     Truth – John 8:32; 1 Timothy 2:4

6.     Christ – 1 Timothy 1:15; Matthew 1:21; Luke 19:10

7.     God – John 3:16

8.     Faith – Hebrews 11:6; Acts 16:31

9.     Repentance – Acts 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9

10. Confession – Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9-10

11. Baptism – 1 Peter 3:21; Acts 22:16; Acts 2:38

12. Faithful life – Revelation 2:10b

Conclusion:

1.     Do not overemphasize any one of them.

2.     All are important – any one missing and the chain breaks

3.     They are all vital parts of the “Chain that Saves.”
