is ticking.

SCRIPTURE READING: Same
INTRODUCTION:
- At
midnight tonight we begin a new year as we count time.
- Last
year we changed from 1900 to 2000.
- Some
argue that the new millennium will start tonight.
- Reason:
There is no "0" year. We went from 1 BC to 1 AD.
God does not have a calendar.
- We
use the sun and earth rotation to measure years.
- God
IS the sun of heaven. He does not rotate.
- Heaven
is one eternal day
- To
God there is no difference in one day or one millennium.
- We
try to make God fit our calendar. It has been a year -
Why doesn't God do something? (Revelation 6:9-11)
God has His own method of measuring time.
- Galatians
4:4 – In the fullness of time = When God was ready
- Why
did God wait 4000 years from Adam's sin to Christ?
- God
was not ready.
Delay as we measure time, does not mean God has forgotten.
- God
will keep His promises – and threats. (9)
- God's
promises are sure. (2 Corinthians 1:20)
- Delay
of God = patience for us to repent. (9)
The day will come. (10)
- It
will come unexpectedly.
- Suddenly,
without warning.
- Violently,
demonstrating the wrath of God.
God's Millennium Has Started.
- This
world will be dissolved, melted, and burned up.
- God's
time clock for eternity is ticking.
- The
real issue is – Are you ready? (14)
Conclusion:
- God
does have a plan.
- His
clock is ticking.
- Soon
the alarm will sound.
- Are
you ready?
